Here's a shot I took of Will (holding his Oscar for "Closed Mondays") after I interviewed him at his house on NW Thurman St. in early 1975. The interview was published as "The Oscar Built of Clay" in the Oregonian's Sunday supplement, Northwest Magazine (May, 1975). Will was 27 at the time; I was 19. Two years later, when I was just starting my senior year of college, he hired me as his production assistant. I was blown away.
